Statement No. 22: Everyone should remember that any grouping – whoever it may be – cannot stand up against the Tribes and their rebels, and that it can withstand a wide front that is supported by the whole nation, and by masses that rose to remove injustice and oppression, and in any case these masses will not accept any alternative replacement that practices the same exclusion and injustice for which they rose to eradicate.
Affirmation of the General Military Council of Iraqi Revolution
O noble Iraqi People
O glorious rebels
We congratulate the continuation of the liberation of your cities from oppression, injustice and arbitrariness; this could not have been without God’s grace, and with the efforts of the heroic trueborn Iraqi Tribal Rebels.
However, it is a rule in life that all human effort is sometimes faced with obstacles which requires sage men to act with wisdom; that require them to be soft without weakness, strong without cruelty; obstacles that should not cause us despondence but on the contrary should push us to work to overcome them, while depending on Almighty God, for He is the support of his children in circumstances such as these.
We would like to remind you of our declared constants before dealing with a collection of matters:
The Military Council Rebels are your sons and your brothers and in thus they are the sons and brothers of all Iraqis without distinction between one group and another; and that the Councils’ commanders refuse any sectarian approach; one of the most important principle reasons for the revolt was to eradicate sectarian injustice, so it is impossible that the rebels would use methods that the rebellion rose to eradicate, and that the enemy, as far as the Military Councils are concerned - as previously announced – is anybody who does harm to the Iraqi People and their possessions; this includes any party that commits this malfeasance and terrorizes our people no matter what its religion, sect or ethnicity, and that the great reason for the revolution is the liberation of the sons of Iraq, all Iraq, from the injustice of the government, the provision of security and stability, to live an honourable life in freedom and in happiness with all the bounty and wealth that God has bequeathed them; for this reason it is not possible that we will accept an alternative that confiscates freedoms and imposes on the people a style of life they have not been familiar with throughout history.
Everyone should remember that any grouping – whoever it may be – cannot stand up against the Tribes and their rebels, and that it can withstand a wide front that is supported by the whole nation, and by masses that rose to remove injustice and oppression, and in any case these masses will not accept any alternative replacement that practices the same exclusion and injustice for which they rose to eradicate.
Compassion and immortality to the revolution’s righteous martyrs, and glory to the heroic rebels and to the Iraqi People who broke its chains and shackles and soared in the space of liberty that will reign throughout Iraq, God willing and with the grace of the prayers of the oppressed and the subjugated, as God is all powerful.
