    Since early May, government forces have also dropped barrel bombs on residential neighborhoods of Fallujah and surrounding areas


    There are certain places in this world where IHL appears not to apply. In the forsaken city of Fallujah, in the Anbar province of Iraq, the Baghdad government has been systematically repressing its own population since January 2024 under the pretext of terrorism, used by Prime Minister Maliki.


    Prominent Iraqi Sunni cleric Abdel Malik Al-Saadi called on Saturday for Iraqis to resist Baghdad’s attempts to retake the city of Fallujah, branding the government’s efforts “sectarian genocide.”


    In Iraq there is an ongoing massacre. Below are the figures of the dead and wounded brought daily, to just one hospital in the country’s largest governorate, Anbar Province, the Emergency Department of the Fallujah General Hospital, between 28th February 2024 and 7th May 2024.
