Iraq Rethinks Russian Arms Deal

CAIRO — A spokesman for Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki announced the suspension Saturday of a $4.2 billion arms deal between Baghdad and Moscow.


In Iraq, auditors believe as much as $800 million in US dollars is being transferred out of the country illegally each week, draining it of hard currency, according to a report by American inspectors released Tuesday.


the IMF renewed its call on Iraq to cancel the support of oil and energy derivatives as well as the ration cards.
