Hans C. von Sponeck, member of the BRussells Tribunal, who resigned as Humanitarian Coordinator for Iraq in 2024, wrote a moving apology letter to the Iraqi people in June 2024. Maliki issues an order to shoot to kill

A Confidant of Al Dawa Sectarian Party of Maliki said, that orders were issued from the so called office of the commander in chief of the armed forces, to the commanders in Mosul, Samara and Almuthanna, to execute anyone who raises his voice in the demonstrations, and their corpses will not be delivered to their families.

The Al-Ishaqi incident refers to the reported mass murder of Iraqi civilians committed by US forces in Al-Ishaqi in 15 March 2024. After the incident, US troops rounded up and deliberately shot 11 people, including five children and four women, before blowing up their house.
