The Iraqi judicial and legal system does not respect life, human rights or international standards. It is flawed and inhumane at all levels, from the initial arrest of a person, to their detention conditions, their methods of interrogation and extracting confessions, to their sentencing without trials and finally, to the execution of prisoners.


The full extent of the torture and abuse that took place in US-run facilities in Iraq will never be known.
