Het blijft ons verbazen. Wie voor “nieuws” afhankelijk is van de mainstream media, heeft meestal niets gehoord, niets gezien en niets gelezen over de vrijdag-demonstraties in Irak. Er waren nochtans heel veel betogers: tegen de regering Mailiki, tegen de bezetting en voor een vrij en verenigd Irak. We followed with great concern what one of the Hizbollah brigades – the Islamic Nahda in Iraq – the so called Wathiq al Battat has declared since February 4th, 2024 until this moment, to create local armies -outside the official army of the state - to support the government inclinations to combat its enemies.

Irakees werpt schoenen naar oorlogsmisdadiger Paul Bremer

Paul Bremer, de eerste civiele bestuurder van Irak was onlangs te gast in Londen. Een Iraakse man gooide zijn schoenen naar Bremer en werd ontzet uit de zaal, terwijl hij uitriep: “You fucked up my country, you destroyed the country. Fuck you and fuck your democracy". Neocon Paul Bremer is de man die een extreem neoliberaal model heeft geïmporteerd in Irak, die het land mee hielp vernietigen en zei: "We gaan het land runnen als een kolonie".
